strike back..

the once forgotten & dreaded attack is back.. 10 yrs back, the dr said that i might be facing mild symptoms of the wheeze. medication was prescribed..taken and forsaken within a matter of days. the side effects were bad.. the wheeze went away.. and visited almost once a year..almost always a surprise visit. no exception for this time round.. arghh.. the 2nd dr mentioned stress as a cause... medication was an inhalent.. discus look-a-like toy.. purplish cover. "take a puff" when u feel the discomfort. puffed once, twice..and forsaken..

maybe its due to the lack of exercise..am nt too sure. or the incessant thoughts of impending exams. not quite sure.

maybe i do have mild asthma afterall..

The bday week..
Have much to update for the past week..but the burnt wkend totally drained me of all the energy.. the school work is indeed getting to me.. very worried abt the next term with corporate finance & equity lumped together..

yep the bday celebration started off with partying at barfly with the usual gang. it was a nite of absolute fun.. am glad everyone enjoyed that. managed to catch up with ivan on saturday after class.. i was seriously drained.. he could tell that i was dozing off whilst waiting for the pizza and calamari at modestos. sorry abt that pal.. pls pardon me if i lost u at times.. had sleepless nites for the past week. the wkend at class was horrid... tried to keep up and all..but just kept feeling fatigued. feels like i'm falling ill..

popped the panadol today at work as well..dun quite fancy the idea of taking it..guess i just had to to kill the pain. the temples were really constricted. the project mate called a few times to discuss abt our delta hedged portfolio..and consulted capsicum owner abt it. i was charged 10 bux per min.. haha!

Post work drinks at molly's was nice..cosy and relaxed.. quite like the place in fact. much much better than harry's with all the guai-los ard....argghh..

Was kinda tired by the time i hit the subway..semi dozed off whilst commuting.

Sudden pang of depression just hit..not sure why and how.. had to fill the tummy with some food before heading back.
grab a quick bite at the nearby food court..and jostled home...

berry seemed like the best companion.. berried celine..so glad that i could talk to her.. the school work...and planning abt stuffs for future and all just came full blast..

just wish for a quiet evening with the girls tomorrow..

Partie Partie Partie..~!

Happy Birthday Amy! Had a joint bday celebration with amies at Barfly last evening. One of greatest night out for a long long time. The whole gang was there to grace our special day together.. such a privilege to see so many turn up on a friday night. Apologies to boon yam, urai , chris, jas and those who left early.... i'm guilty for being there later than i should. We will definitely have dinner together soon ya?

the nite started slow with martinis...simple stuff... and of cos with the crowd coming in.... the guys definitely wanted me and amy sloshed. haha! joey and aug suggested shots.....that was it... well it started off rather light.. 18 shots of kamikaze..NO, amy and myself din down the 18 ourselves. HAHAH... one each for everyone...ok..well we had to do 2 in the end. So kamikaze was still safe.... as the night went on..more martinis...and photo snapping. probably the only group that created a hell load of brambles haha! Good Job guys!

Round 2 of shots came along... same stuff.. 2 each... (4 down...and counting)... the 2 sweeties , jemie and geraldine came along.. :) more martinis...

by 11ish....everyone was somewhat tipsy..jason suggested round 3 of shots.. and yea we did it again.. arghh.. 2 each of "blow job" pretty yummy stuff ..kahlua with whip cream.. that was not the end.. the waiter dished out the "waterfall" apparatus...*gulp* that was it....

a nite of good fun and copious amts of alcohol.. thanks guys for making the evening a fun one for me and amy!

glad that the damage to the pockets werent that big...hahahha

Ah yes..totally killed the diet plan with the wkend long of cny. doesnt help with the coffee table packed with heaps of sinful cookies...arghh..

the fingers kept crawling to them. wish i could just put them all away. the cny vice...

now to work off the excess calories...pineapple tarts..walnut cookies..kueh lapis..argghh butter ladened!!

i'm gonna hit the gym later.. i still have a "zero room for growth" dress to fit..

Lunar New Year Eve..

10 mins more...before the reunion dinner starts. Dinner's slightly different this year.. we're dining in instead of hitting the resto. The granny's not too mobile..guess old age is catching up with her.

finally managed to the pair of heels for the new dress. call me old fashion..but still do believe in having a nice new outfit for the brand new year.

Cny countdown??...
2 days and the cny eve arrives..somehow lost that buzz i had in previous years. probably due to a change in work environment..existing place doesn't seem too "hyped up" about the occasion..

Caught Sweeny Todd today at cathay, with tix at an unbelievable 6 bucks?! Almost forgot the days where movie tix were 6 bux..man i miss those days.. rather nice show..but a tad bit of gor... the musical-like setting gives it a slightly different twist as compared to previous tim burton-johnny depp tie ups..

Pinched a bite of mum's fruit cake..think its still too "raw" to be eaten.. freshly baked fruit cakes need some time to "mature"..

Got a lil shocked when capsicum was dished instead..

Seriously need to be kept in shape.. the satin dress awaits its debut

Am convinced that i'm no trader material.. gave a way off level on my bet today.. think its time to stop making the bets.. time to consolidated the wins and losses... wanton noodles, chic rice, dark choc ice cream... blah blah..

The much awaited assignment is here..finally.. alright i'm sicko to be looking fwd to it. Not exactly to be frank. just want to finish it asap and rid it out of the way. i forsee more nerve wrecking tasks for the next module making its way here... bless me.
5 questions and i'm done with 2. Let me find some time over lunch to type up qn 3. Doesnt seem that difficult..the concepts just have to be "internalised" - quoting the lecturer..

not too sure if i'm out of mind to toy with the idea of doing the cfa.. attempted the lvl one the year before (dec); slaughtered big time. interestingly, it was ethics that fared the worst. hmmm...maybe am not as ethical as what i thought myself to be.

anyhow...time to hit the zzzz button. another thurs before the lunar new year comes along. somehow...someway...i dun feel the festive mood as much. probably the lack of lao yu sheng sessions with the team and frens.

Back to school...
Lessons finally resumed on friday evening. Was actually looking fwd to the intensive sessions...ok maybe i'm odd or nuts. hah! Haven gotten down to this ramble space for a while.. 3 wks maybe? Some mates have indicated that.. guess i was trying hard..very hard to read the texts and din want to get online too frequent. Seeing the flickering screen for a good 15 hours a day is bad!

Alright, summary of some highlights of the past few weeks..Nothing all that great happened..a nice quiet start to the brand new year. Ok i guess i have to sprout it out..did a fair bit of shopping thus far..3 dresses.. the latest to the collection was a satin dark blue pencil tube dress. the elegance and pristine cut just had me swipe the card.....arghh... sometimes i wish i din have "free time" before meet up with the girls.. alright excuses excuses..

Cny is just about the corner...2 weeks more...thereabouts..the empress (aka mummy) baked heaps of sinful, artery clogging pineapple tarts. used to think they were quite hard to bake...but with time... i've come to realised that they originate from the same basic cookie recipe?!?! add pistachios and u get pistachio cookies...throw in the walnuts and almonds and u'll reap variants of them. yes they are culprits of cellulite and love handles... but dun we just love the golden brown nibbles melt in our mouths? i know i am a sucker for them.. am glad the gymming regime is up and running for me...phew.. ok to eat more...i better work out more. and it doesnt help with the empress baking fruit cake next week...i love the rum soaked raisins....yum....

Wound down weekend....

The kickstart to the fantastic weekend was dinner at prive with the girls. Joe, amy, noi, grace and alicia. Joe's maiden trip to shanghai this time. The chatter throughout the night kept us busy..am so glad we had that lil corner room to ourselves. the boisterous laughter and random shrieks might have created quite a scene at the plc. haha! i love those ladies. Albeit the somewhat claustrophobic feel of the resto, we had fun. Noi had to adjourn to another party whilst we hung about at gastrobar sipping our juices! Yes no alcohol for the evening. :)

Saturday was babysitting day for us. Loyce brought her princess to meet the 3 aunts - joe, amy and myself. The princess herself is such a gem. Resembles her dad quite a bit. Quite a bit of fun for us cradling the little one. Rather interesting sharing session of motherhood from the mummy herself.. Looking fwd to the day where she starts her tiny steps!

The sunday plan was to jog. However daddy had something on in the morning...so it got called off. Hj and i caught up for brunch at mimolette. Lovely place off fairway drive. The interiors of the dining room was white washed. The chandeliers gave a cosy yet classy touch. Hj's benedict eggs were yummy. The farmer's brkfast set i had was equally good. Probably sink my teeth into the wagyu mini burgers the next time round. hee...

Had to make up to daddy for his way delayed xmas pressie.. popped by isetan and bought him a nice polo tee and berms from ashworth. somehw the ashworth polo tees are much better than the ralph lauren ones i got him previously... well material wise.. guess its the additional premium one pays for the horse embroidery on the lhs of the chest.

Welcome 2008

Alright guilt guilt guilt. have not been doing up this place for the longest time. ok the biggest excuse for nt updating would be a hectic schedule. fine a lil of bullshit..maybe partially is true. was trying to catch up with all the mates before the new year starts. distributing all the cookies , brownies and cupcakes i baked for xmas season. did nt get to flicker much with the camera cos the fingers were all covered with butter, sugar and what nots of baking. haha! yeps heap loads of butter!! so all of u out there who had a bite or two of them...heheheh...pls make sure u work out loads!! *grin* alright i was joking.. i really did try my best to reduce the fat and sugar for the sweet treats. those of you who managed the muffins...pls be assured that only the best virgin olive oil was used to baked them. :)

Now for 2008....the usher in of new year was at the aunt's place. nice quiet countdown with the relatives and cousins. Couldn't believe that we all huddled up in dorcia's room for japanese animae and caramel corn snacks and some arnott's shapes bites. To buzz the count down a lil, i lugged a bottle of sparkling rose for everyone to clink the glasses whilst shouting....10...9....8.........2...1....Happy new year!! Reckoned that they are not really into champagne, the rose should do fine.

New year's day was really nice and slow. Decided to hit the beach with melzone. Been so long since we met..glad tht he is doing well and all :) Joe and alicia were at del mar too..slow day of chit chat and catch up is a brilliant way to start the year.

So much for fun fun n fun.......the harsh reality of school hits once more when i collected the books on thurs...*gulp* its back to school.... gonna psyche myself up a little.

Decided to take away the curls...after 2 years of wavy/curly hair...its time for a change. wanted to have the locks snipped..deliberately changed the salon to ensure that i dun get a bias opinion from the stylist. alas..the stylist at The Hair Shop cajoled "no cut" as well..i guess might as well just leave them..and just straighten the hair for a change.

End result...fantastic. Felt refreshed. Looking fwd to a brand new year. I'm excited.

Week-full of activities
Indeed, the week ended well, very well. The company trip to bintan was fantastic. Spent some good time with evan, the girl talk and lazing by the beach under the brolly, sipping our cocktails, with ipods plugged on....total bliss. The cocktail party at the bar was the main highlight for the trip. Lil tots with their wrists adorned with fluroscent light stick bangles, whilst the adults had a pretty blinking star hung down the neck. Lucky draws, christmas carols and photo taking made the hr and half fly past real quick.

Drinks drinks and more drinks...alcohol rather. the bosses drank non stop..the guys had a swimming competition in the pool. Alicia and myself became victims...had to go for 2 laps of swim in my sundress!?! gosh...

the uniform dress up party was great FUN! thanks much evan babe!

Run run run.....
Did the stanchart marathon this year without training. it was as good as courting my own death. and needless to say...it certainly did. the run brought back rather interesting memories and a brand new experience ths year. my first time running as a non participant. the route was pretty much the same as the previous years..yea...during my more fit days. haven ran anything beyond 10km this year.....today's attempt is very much the first for the year.

was rather reluctant on the run initially...but after some thoughts...decided to end the year with a finale..quite cliche..but true. a rather physical and mental enduring activity. there were throngs of participants for the race. quite interesting to know how singaporeans take time off on a sunday morning for this activity.

kinda strange...but the excitement and adrenalin which i had in previous years seem to have dwindled this year. the race was not exactly inspiring..somehw..i think i would have preferred a triathlon to a marathon now. running the 42km seems a little mundane. weather today was nt at all kind. the scorching heat started at about 9ish...yet another experience which i've not gotten for a while. running in the early mornings and evenings is so much more enjoyable.

post run lunch was banana, papaya and some cakes from da paolo gastronomia...yum......

another excuse to indulge in desserts since a decent bit of calories was burnt at the run. hehz..

Fulfilling Saturday..
The much postponed revision session got back on track today. Grabbed the muffin meal from macs before heading to school. Miss the egg mcmuffin. geez...can't imagine hw unhealty it is..the readings start off at a decent pace. but somewhat plateau by 4.30pm. Guess it was a hint that things are quite filled to the brim. Met joe to buy alicia's bday pressie. Settled on an eyeshadow palette and lip gloss from chanel. I love the lipgloss....brilliant xmas collection.

Dinner was at Corduroy and Finch, 6th avenue. Tapas was great, except that it could have been better, with a teeny weeny bit less olive oil. Alicia had a great time. Happy birthday gal! Thanks for inviting to dinner

I am looking forward to xmas............

Home sweet Home
After a week's clandestine affair with tokyo, i'm finally back home. The seminar was great..needless to say getting on a flight there with more leg room, larger cushy seats and supposedly better inflight dining (i guess the starters were more decent..mains were nt that great..alright shan't be picky) Did not get to zzzz well for the outbound flight..at least the excitement helped sustained my entire sunday for some sightseeing.

Missed several sightseeing spots last dec when i was there with an ex lover. decided that this trip gonna be a good oppty for me to finish them. The boss dropped me at the Meiji shrine entrance before he heads to shinjuku for his shopping.. so yea, first stop on a sunday morning was Meiji shrine. The walk through the mini forest was very tranquil. Chanced upon a traditional japanese wedding procession..lovely. Its amazing to learn that the country still values tradition so strongly...made me wonder if traditions back home are that highly regarded. hmmm....

anyhow..next stop..harajuku..caught a few sights of the teens dressed up like japanese animae characters. And of cos..some shopping for me. Managed a pair of purple/brown booties :P i love them! the crepes stall at almost every corner of harajuku was shouting out at me..yea..i had to succumb to temptation. got my very own strawberry ice cream crepe for lunch. eeek eek...sinful..gosh the whip cream was just overflowing..............

had to head back to kayabacho (where the hotel was) to drop some stuffs...way too many things to carry. dropped the booties, fancl cleanser and some other barang before heading out for an onsen treat! missed the oedo onsen the last time as well...although hakone made up for it..still...i had to visit it! haaha..

dinner appt with tricia was set at 6.30pm...that left me with about 2.5hrs to head to and fro the onsen. hmm ok imagine the distance from orchard to nus and back to cityhall for dinner. yea i was that crazy. zipping about with a one day open train pass on the subway.

the entire experience was great. lovely weather, beautiful sunset at odaiba and some quiet time to myself....

48hours later....
I'll be waiting at the departure gate for the tky bound flight. the boots, warm clothing, toiletries and everything else is still residing at their usual kept compartments. alright i'm procrastinating the packup. promise to finish up the packing 8 hrs before flight. that's the target.

my 2nd trip there..looking fwd to it. 11 mths ago was the maiden trip. A trip of a different purpose. Doubt i'll get alot of RnR time during this trip...but sure am looking fwd to the places i missed the previous time. have to get the counterparts some bah-kua aka pork jerky, some bengawan solo pineapple tarts and all....

got to get back to the books.......i am so behind time.....eeek

-Flows-
The thought bubbles are not flowing as much as they used to, at least for blogging. The week ended pretty decent. Highlight of the week was a jogging session with jeff and alvin. They almost killed me with their flamboyant running attire- think bright green, yellow and red. Commented about alvin's attire and jeff mentioned that his is gonna be a head turner. Yes he did prove me so, right after we got changed at the gym. Weather was fantastic on wednesday evening. Perfect for an evening run by the bay. The running session became the chat topic the following day.."we should do more running", "certainly! i need to get my running regime back on track"

Dessert Indulgence on friday evening after the tutorial session...i do have a weakness for them. drats...+600 calories to burn. gym on saturday was a teeny bit of comfort at least..just one more week before the flight out to tokyo! i think i need a nice warm jacket for this trip.

shopping time!

Never too much...
Felt great after a week of regular exercise regime. Seems like i'm back on track to getting my strength and stamina. Maybe its psychological..but i do feel very much refreshed at work today.

Finally got the "curve jargon" right today. spent much time reading and drawing yield curves. Ee-pin's Fabozzi Book for Bond analysis came in really handy. am so tempted to duplicate a copy of it hehe.. ok you're not reading this...

hmm contemplated for a while about the hair. very tempted to snip the locks. alas..decided to keep them and get the soft curls in place once more.

Saturday evening....
And I'm waiting for the folks to have dinner out and i had a great afternoon by ecp sipping florida's orange juice under a huge raintree. Chit chatting with my buddy and feeling all so relaxed.

tick tock tick tock....lets hope the folks wake soon from their slumber.

Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends (Live)

**Snail mail vs Email**
The advent of technology transformed the nature of mails. From snail mails to emails to sms to msn to berry msgs. And indeed, i went through the entire cycle of this transformation. Leo's email came as a nice surprise from far away boston. Brought back nice memories of how we started the mode of communication via snail mails! yea the times where one scurry to queue for stamps at the postal office, to slotting coins at the SAM machine for sticker like stamps. And waiting patiently for the letters to be sent and replied by the recipient. Reading hand written letters has always been a joy. Still is. It must have been 10 years since we first exchanged those letters. the dusty letter sets still sit in the box. maybe its time to pen another letter.

Its fascinating to know how that child like behaviour of letter writing is still in me. never a fan of emails..guess we all have to succumb to that in recent times. its like a form of documentation! gosh, all the "promises" made about work deadlines and agreements are documented on these horrid electronic mails.

**Flamenco**
Caught my very first flamenco performance today at the Dans Festival. Splendid. Kudos to Nic who recommended the performance- Seville. The turnout was nt bad at all. Seems like performing arts is taking its place here in singapore. Hmm are we turning cosmopolitan?
Seville somehow reminded me of my dance performance days. Gruelling weekends of practise and all. but it was great fun.

The exam grades are out. didn't do fantastically well. average perhaps. never a fan of accounting..keke..phew good thing i cleared that paper

***Current Affairs***
The 3 day intensive was fantastic. Nt sure how the new lecturer fare up to the previous. I certainly enjoyed his lessons. Very relevant illustrations and discussion on current affairs. I'm beginning to like economics.
Another weekend flew by. At least i get 3 wks of rest before the next intensive. Time to do some baking with the gals. Mebbe i shld try an apple crumble and something savoury...hmmm any suggestions?

**reminiscence**
the chat was good. it was a great feeling of familiarity, comfort and openess. in a way i kinda miss it. it was such a long time ago when it was ironed out. the same topic got brought up. you know what i wish for. am glad tht the pointers helped in some way or another. am sure all will be paved well.

**catch up**
i do have alot to catch up on this personal ramble space. was told by another mate that i blog in a cryptic manner.hmm..mebbe i do? the term 3 exams ended about 3 weeks back. after which was a series of non stop fun with the girls and catching up with all the mates who always go on temporary cold storage when lectures run full speed. sorry mates, i'm trying to make up for it.

celine, jeff and jason dropped by sp for their long weekend. it was great seeing them once more. esp with the trio gathering again, doing ditsy girly stuff. heee u girls know who you are. jeff and his pepper crab cravings, jason and his desserts. total bliss to be back with the mates once more.

bkk was next in line after which. my 2nd trip up to tom yam land. quite a different experience this time round. the place seemed familiar. the various shopping arenas reminded me of the "yaya" trip. amy and i fooling ard in the belt shop, aug and his shirt making session and yang with his walkie talkie. the train ride to huahin was interesting. din noe food is served at the 2nd class carriage?! i was impressed! casa del mare - the lil boutique resort was homely. am glad much rest was taken. dropped by bed supper club as well in bkk city. hmm din think too highly of it. somehow i'd tot the cannery in sp is way better. guess it was an interesting experience.

24hrs later and term 4 begins. am really looking fwd to it.

-Round and round-
Got a lil lost with directions whilst driving back from harbourfront. Somehow, i enjoyed the feeling of being a lost and driving abt to scout for the correct route home. the trip back was surreal..trying to seek a right way home.

celine, jason and jeff arrived one day after another. wonderful to have all of them back in sp for a gathering. the bunk in session with the girls was great. chatting and sharing... not forgetting a simple saturday afternoon by the beach and slurping alaskan pie from island creamery.

the second session of exams ended last sunday. phew. and now....we're gonna start the ball rolling once more for term 4. the econs text looks horribly thick. gosh...

-Change-
And i thought that it was a change for the better. Not necessarily i guess in this case. The boss made an announcement on the transfer. I was well prepared for the news 2 days ago. Yet the atmosphere was different today when he spoke. He tried to hide the emotions. Was lost for words. The predecessor might be a tough nut to crack. might be too soon to tell in fact. am just keeping the fingers crossed. Looks like i have to garner more positivity. Wish him well and am sure it'll be good a couple of years down the road.

Have to adopt the change

alright just looking to the end of this term. cant wait for the final paper to end. somehow, this term seemed so unbearable. reckoned that it could be the modules. accounting was a killer. alright never a fan of it anyway. haha at least quants seem so much more manageable.

did not post an entry on the brunei trip. here goes...it was a virgin trip there. rather enjoyable with evangeline as well. the chit chat and stuff was good. glad that i found someone with the same tot freq. kinda rare now in the existing company. the other boss suggested a room upgrade for all of us. kudos to him. haha..eventually gotten a nice deluxe room to myself. the view could have been better if not for the ground level unit. shall keep my fingers crossed for the next visit during the puasa period.

-Lunch time-
Who says you can't take pics over lunch time? yep there you have it.. kudos to gp for his camera. yep he mentioned that i have to honour some blog pts to him for the photos. haha!

* Wireless technology*
Boy am i amazed by the wonders of wireless technology. right, i'm just a non tech geek..obviously very fascinated after the wireless setup at home is up and running. (about 20min ago) gone are the pains of incessant fights with mich on who gets to use the comp for work. hah! she ought to thank me for this. yeap and i finally get to do some typing from my trusty mac book and not forgetting submitting the assignments on time!

fri was a day off at home, catching up with studies. i have alot to catch up. no doubt abt that. ended the evening with a nice heartwarming show- Ratatouille with kel. I love it. dropped by villa bali for drinks. rather nice setting with not too much crowd. at least i get some space in this tiny city of rising population. argh. even getting the tics at the cinema was a wait. we had to split up the job. kel took to one queue whilst i tried the axs machine. wished they'd had more self collection booths to speed things up a lil.

nw i get to type and surf whilst on the couch :)

Been trying to get the focus up on the papers..yet distracted from several issues. the biz trip, work, and muddled up thoughts. just need to follow through and pray that all will be well end mth.

it was good to clear the air. din like it when its all pent up. as usual my trusty twin gave the support and courage. thank you dear...

browsed through the pics in the digi cam and found a couple of shots from the ndp parade which the folks attended. donned in their patriotic red tees and complimentary red caps, they looked lovely. the photos put a smile. not forgetting mich's pic with boo. haha okok thats her bf's nick.

the accts assignment was a killer. acctg concepts blended with some muddled thoughts definitely dun go hand in hand. had to get a breather by ecp. personal time was great. at least i chose to believe that it helped dispel some stuff from the head. the thought of training up for another triathlon popped once more.

gotten very good pointers from the mentors. am forever appreciative of them. often giving good advice and insights of the trade. thank you all. you know who you are. the clear muddled mind became muddled. you get the knock knock on the door again. what you thought was history decides to make its haunt. truly understand how al felt then.

found a fellow fish mate who reads the blog. interesting. and quote of the day was : Look fwd to tomorrow. true indeed. the day ahead has so much awaiting. some like time to fly, yet others enjoy the slowness. a good balance will do it.

and can i just lament abt the exams again? finally, i have a full version of mac office running. the countdown to expiry for trial was just way to pesky. kudos to mervyn for the illicit barter. haha!

extreme after effects of class today. haven felt this way for a while. i doubt its a time for jubilation. its more exasperation. the 3 hr last evening was bearable.. had a good breather after lessons with kn at dempsey. the ride home was lovely. quiet roads, nice music and the cold winds in the face. wish i could do that everyday. but roads in singapore are just way too packed with cars..

today's 6 hr lessons killed me entirely. the alphabets, numbers are all swimming in my head. the neurons are dead. synapses are not transmitting. neurotransmitters are malfunctioning. i need the pillows. hah! and am trying hard not to think about upcoming exams in sept. alright let me look forward to the biz trip in early sept. brunei..hmmz..i wonder hw it'll be like.

got thrown in another situation again. nvr fond of decisions. taking the leap or taking the plunge? we'll see.

havent been in the swing of typing. reason: trying hard to finish up the stats assignment, comp down..and a lil lazy. heh. so glad that i get to grouse and muse abt.

last weekend was great..fulfilled weekend. granny and the family indulged dim sum at Cherry Blossoms- Oriental Hotel. Totally enjoyed the experience. Mum and dad enjoyed the treat quite a bit. A simple sunday with the family. Mich and i then headed to ecp for a nice evening run to shed the calories! honestly..it was that much to kill. gawd..

lessons resumed this week...2 weeks more and the exams arrive once more. not too good a weekend with the flu bugging me. caught up with aug, yang and amy after their summer party and post class. it was a bday dinner gathering for auggie. La nonna was the venue for chomp. the gang always crack up when we gather. i love them. the next place for our getaway-redang. looking fwd to it.

-Birthday Bash-

Had a great bday bash for my fellow twin (aka joe). and of cos knowing that the babe is a vegan, we decided to opt for veg food at Lingzhi. dinner was a sumptous spread. never knew vegetarian food can taste so much like the real stuff. at least the mock pork ribs tasted like the real thing! it was lovely to have urai, alicia, boonyam, linda, jas and not forgetting the only thorn amongst the ladies, isaac.

after dinner, we adjourn to molly malone by boat quay. perfect evening with the breeze along the singapore river. eepin n uncle liang came along after which.. both veterans had so much to share abt the mkts.

will just ramble a lil abt the day. started with a quiet morning..after lunch time was quite a flurry. got a call to cfm abt accts and secs later, the order came right through. 6 lines of orders to work on. butter fingers and adrenalin rush. good thing gina was by my side to assist. minutes later, another offer request came in. was quite an experience. now i love it. really looking fwd to more of them.

Been a while since I hit the machines.Time to get acquainted once more to rid those unsightly flabby arms. Argh.

-Giraffe-

Haven been able to post anything for the past few days. pc down..and was zonked out after work. its finally nearing the end of week..the assignment looms once more. well its a neverending story.

met up with adrian for his bday dinner. and yea we had it at giraffe, this resto opp ps. nice place..at least its not noisy. situated in the heart of dhoby gaut, yet it has its fair share of peacefulness. i hate noisy places. the spread on menu wasn't fascinating, but the quality wasn't too bad. softshell crab salad was rather nice. grilled salmon was a tad bit overdone, but adrian's lampchop was rather tasty.

needless to say, the desserts just have to come along. the lava choc cake was reasonable and the white creamy mouse cake he had was alrite. i still like the one from menotti.

mkt's been pretty bad. up and down. the after lunch dips look like a fall off u see during dive trips..where the sea bed just drops suddenly to a bottomless pit.

Ad's departure was rather sad. really like her. wish her well at the new place.

-Chatter chatter-

Will load this post just before i hit the sack. am rather tired from the lack of zzz..then again i'm still preping up my facial regime before snoozing...and have some time..so why not.

caught up with jas, ali and chris at coffee bean (paragon) after the class. din stay too long at the coffee joint. haha the 4 noise makers decided to head elsewhere...supposed to play board games..and i obviously ran out of brain cells for them. haha..eventually we settled for ps cafe at dempsey. mite be a first time for the 3 of them. yes the chatter continues...and the sinful indulgence precedes...carrot cake and the sky high choc cake...gosh..i wish i could practise some self control..ah well..whatever its the weekend anyway. haha..the diet only applies to weekdays.

-Asian Boys-
Caught the vol.3 of the play last evening with kb. my first time at drama centre. shld i say, my first visit to the national library. yes its sad to hear this...and dun be surprised..i've never made a pilgrimage ever since it opened 2yrs back? haha quite a loser. but anyhow better be late than never.

the play was beautifully written. actors and actresses took on their roles very well. emotions were intense. applaud them. the story brought out controversial gay issues. highly debatable..very interesting for our society. i do look forward to a vol. 4 should there be any.

-Pains of Technology-
yes i'm such a loser with gadgets. spent a good 45min wrestling with the pc.the monitor had to just shut off time after time after time. obviously testing my patience when i had to check out the exam grades. anyhow, yep got my grades. rather decent.

i so have to sort out my macbook and all the network setup. the existing cd rom thingy doesnt run on the new macbook. says alot about the technology running on the pc at the moment. at the rate things are going..hahah i doubt i'll sort it out. ok let me set this as priority.

-Sisterhood-
we hardly have such gatherings, but when we do, all hell break loose. indeed, oac gals were never too girly to start with. the boisterous laughter, the corny jokes, the mutual teasing and the non-stop eating. Jemie, geral, huifen, meng and i met up after a long while. to recap, 10 years of friendship (aka sisterhood). gone are the days of tents pitching and gruelling physical training. meng's gabrielle sparkled as we gazed with envy and happiness. its lovely to share that union of great frens.

the desserts at menotti got us on a sugar overload. yes literally high..haha. it was silly to sing a birthday song in a semi crowded resto. good thing we were in our lil corner. silly it may seem, but we did it in good fun. who cares if the queer stares were darted in our direction. thank you ladies for being such wonderful pals...*hugx* jem..ur cheesecake is yummy!

-Importance of Communication-
Met up with tc for a run today after school. its like a long lost running buddy found once more. all seems well for him till he broke news abt him and his partner. was a lil taken aback. pondered a while..before i spoke.

as we chatted over the run, realised the reason why. made me feel that relationships are so vulnerable. hence the title. was glad that he shared as a friend with the trust and friendship built over the years. no judgement was passed. and that is true. pray that the storm will pass soon for them.

"till death do us part.." i wonder if this holds strong and true in today's society.

-Friends are there to listen,never to judge-

Met up with beloved joe after her week long at training. So glad to see her after a long day at school with statistical methods. haha, yes this sounds lesbian, but no worries still have a preference for men. hah!

Yes and we wanted quiet time together. decided upon robertson quay for a simple japanese dinner. we chatted and chatted and chatted. so much to catch up on. love strolling about in casual wear on a weekend. its amazing how our friendship blossomed with time. thank you so much joey babe. love you.

decided to reward ourselves with some tea and cakes for dessert. we dropped by canele and had dark choc cake and chloe-peach/mango yogurt cake. was a lil tired after the dinner, but it was time well spent with a treasured friend.

a rather busy day.. clients appt one after another. but was good. lessons started once more.

made a query this morning. rather prompt reply and to the point. i was curious. glad that i asked. anyhow.. am rather tired. no more of the stuff..its just too mind boggling and troublesome.

-Read-
To read is to feed the mind and soul. never reali a fan of novels. but picked up another of Paulo Coelho's books to read from the store. the last i read was alchemist. i love that book. haha dy made a funny comment abt reading when he saw the book. "you read and think so much..you'll end up not finishing the book, cos you spend too much time thinking..." kinda true. well thats one thing for sure abt Paulo's books. sets u with the thinking mode.

haha i'm a sucker for thinking about stuffs. almost done with the book. whoever's keen i could lend. got one for shaune's farewell. hope he doesn't find it boring. hah!

finally got everything sorted out. crystal clear and at least i get to have more insights. next up will be quants and acctg in focus.

-Dim Sum Dollies-
Caught my very first dim sum dollies performance today. brilliant! I love it. the jokes, spoofs, costumes, songs and the 3 gals- dim sum dollies! really am looking fwd to the next run. some mentioned that the previous 2 were fantastic too.

dropped by ecp for a cycle after the show. its been a while since i rode on a bike. hmm i guess the last time was the triathlon. the evening breeze in the face was therapeutic. i love it. hawker food indulgence is sinful. well but i guess its always good to have a go at it once in a while. been a while since the craving for the local delights. the sugar cane, satay, rojak, carrot cake, stingray..gosh.. i really need a major workout.

speaking of dim sum, was supposed to have dim sum with the folks in the morning at wah lok -carlton. but grandma was not feeling too good. we suspected dengue but eventually found out that it was lymphatic inflammation. hope she gets well soon.

-Shopping disease-

Alright the heading says it all. yes am diseased. hah! recalled how amy gave me that term "yvonne! you're diseased!" alright mega confession..3 bags for the week. a tote bag (frm mango) , clutch bag and a tiny makeup kit purse(from xcessorise). showed mum the purple one and she found it lovely too! and wanted me to keep it instead of making it a gift. well one lousy reason or excuse i can give will be that they were all on sale.

yes.. the evils of sales. i know how shopping can be such an emotional decision. no rationality involved. darn it. alright back to the week. all went well. caught transformers..hmm did i mention it in the previous entry? ok i think i did. the appointment with the two portfolio mrgrs was good. at least a good start. the boss was a lil cranky on fri. prob from an overdosage of alcohol the nite before. not from our dept dinner certainly. it was his post dinner "meetups" that got him all woozy.

my long postponed welcome dinner was on thursday. yeap finally. it was at bar and billard (raffles hotel). the buffet spread was decent and totally enjoyed the walk ard the hotel before we settled in. never really roamed abt the hotel. tiffin room looks interesting..and there's always seah street deli. the desserts were great. honestly the quality of food is comparable to The Line at Shangrila. I think that's a lil overhyped.

-Personal Time-
Had some time to myself during lunch. The weather was perfect. Overcast. Slight breeze in the face. Felt like it was early spring or autumn. Got out of the office slightly earlier to miss the crowd. Decided on salad at my fav store-The sandwich shop.

Was quite keen on rewarding myself with a nice hot mocha from spins. But decided against it. headed to mph instead for a quick read at the books. the peacefulness in the store transcends one into a different realm. felt at one..surreal. very tempted to get the new release by paulo coelho. probably drop by times bookstore instead since the voucher is due for expiry. the read uplifted my mood. refreshed! and soon enough it was time with salad.

finally caught the autobots show. pretty amazing and am rather impressed. no wonder the boys love them. hah!

-Bake Away-

Yes and am finally done with my baking session for the day! Phew...let me recount..baked 2 recipe of brownies and a total of 28 carrot cupcakes! Thoroughly enjoyed the session. although a tad bit tired..and greasy fingers..(all the manicure destroyed), but it was all worth it.

Not sure when i'll be able to yield such a good amount of baked stuffs in a day. Gave some to charles (aka smurf), he was always bugging me for my cookies and brownies whilst we were in nus. Glad that he and his gf like the brownies and cupcakes. Met haijie as well. Gave him a pair of nice boy-girl cupcakes for him and his gf. And some brownies to share with her.

Shall bring some to the office for the folks on desk.

-Tall white Hat-
decided to resume my much postponed hobby- baking. brownies and carrot cupcakes are on the baking list for today. the 2nd one is taking its tan in the oven now. just another 20min and i'll run off for the cupcakes.

my first attempt at carrot cakes. started to acquire a liking for them. love the ones from cedele. decided to have my trusty, can't-go-wrong brownies on the list in case we have a lil mishap with the carrot cake.

contemplating if i shld have the tiny silver beads as deco for the cupcakes. hmm.. well one thing for sure, the cream cheese frosting's gonna garnish them. shall consider..

-Reunion once again-

It was a grand reunion last evening. Nilesh made his official departure from our previous firm. Previous dropouts were at kaz bar to "grace" his lil drinks party. it was good to meet up old colleagues and mentors who graciously shared their experiences and knowledge when i started off as a newbie. vincent, eepin, haresh..and many more.

the nite before, thursday, was also another reunion. it was the reunion of the 'running khakis'. Joe and loyce, my beautiful ladies who used to be my running pacers. loyce appeared in her sweet pink maternity top, beeming with much joy from motherhood and pregnancy. Amy and alicia were there as well. We are all looking forward to the november princess to arrive!

work week ended well.with goals and agenda in place. the books and notes will start very soon once again.

-Friendship-
Simple day. Met up with Jasmine after work. been a while since i met the babe. so glad that she is well. bumped into familiar faces while waiting for her at the cap sq lobby. wyman, jenny, boonyam, urai, singchuan. nostalgic feeling.

very thankful to have a great bunch of lovely friends. friends who stand by me and care so much. amazing how the bond forged weather the times. jas saw me in my dejected state. love the times where we chatted over fruits at the pantry. lovely. thank you so much babe.

looking forward to meeting loyce and joe and alicia tomorrow evening. loyce and her lil princess. a great buddy who was my pacer at work then.

-Adrenalin-
Managed to get the adrenalin going after the run along esplanade park. Revisiting my favourite running haunts.

Totally understand the pains of missing mkt info for one day. Was on leave on last friday. missed out on all the eco data. argh. had a bad time running through them. the desk was exceptionally quiet today.

joe showed up in her beautiful kurtak today at pret-a-manger. tot she looked really good in it. was great to catch up with my pals. gonna meet up with loyce and her lil princess on thurs. so excited! the last i met her was at millenia walk, with her ultrasound scan of the lil girl. such a blessed mummy.

the week's schedule is packed up to saturday. hope that it ends with a nice run at the park.

-Fitness Regime-
Finally managed to hit the gym after a long period of "non-attendance". felt good to be on the cycling machine and threadmill plus some rowing. caught ocean's 13 with aug. hmm tot ocean's 11 and 12 were much better.

well at least i managed a movie. had a hard time getting a cinema that still runs it. and i missed shrek 3! way too many shows on the run. heard tat transformers is a rather decent watch too. shall try to get my hands on the tix.

-Exams-
Just done with one paper today-Principles of Finance. Quite relieved that its all over now. Looking forward to the next term. Accounting and Quants, not my favourite. But something new to learn.

Had dinner with the folks at Din Tai Fung before meeting ZZ for coffee at tcc. Been a while since we caught up. good to know that all is doing well for him. Gonna catch up with adrian and daniel after which. daniel's lil party at st james. not my fav place. guess its the company. ZZ was thoughtful to check out the buses which i could hop on from novena to head down to vivocity. horrendous to try to get a cab even with the call service. argh.

Hopped onto bus 166. The ride was really scenic. Brought me to places abt bukit merah which i've never been. the city can be so charming at night. as you can tell i din stay at st james for too long a time. dan got a lil high..decided to head back early to start my exercise routine tom.

Fatigued- Rather tired from the event last evening. the reception turned out well. met several ex clients. really nice to catch up with a few of them. small world and industry indeed. pity i'm handicapped in japanese, would have been great to communicate with the counterparts from tokyo office. the mont blanc name card holder was a great gift and pamper to our clients.

slow day. the bosses were tired from the event too. post event blues. ivan dropped by raffles place for lunch. great to catch up with a buddy. happy that he's found something he likes. wish him well and luck for the exams.

took a slow long walk home from the terminal. been a while since i got back before the sun sets. the scene was lovely. after work buzz. running several tots in the grey matter. revision schedule, exam, classes, work ...wish i could have things all sorted out.

Drops of jupiter

Sticks and stones can break the bones, but words break the heart- had a disagreement with the older of the folks. did not like tone he spoke to granny. was half awake when the incident took place. felt that it was totally uncalled for. decided to just let him finish up his "peace" before i wash up.

spoke up at breakfast. the other folk concur that the raised voice was unnecessary. mentioned that it was just harmless call in the morning from his mum and he need not get worked up. does he want to suffer from that in future? felt the pain for granny. felt so sorry for her. she wanted some concern and attention. yet was "welcomed" by raised voice. i could not accept his reasoning. totally unreasonable and illogical. how righteous and bigotted. i cannot accept that. wish he could sort out his tots. disappointed. lead by example.

respect is earned and not enforced.

The running routine-finally got back to the jogging/running routine after a mth's long of flu, cough and bad throat. the jog at mac was lovely. the mist above the waters in the reservoir was picturesque. the weather was great too. an early morning to start the day.

revision began.but not too fast. maybe a lil tired from the jog. met up with andrew for lunch at ichiban-boshi. seems like there's potential to have an acct opened and future biz since he just undertook his new portfolio.

headed out for dinner at sentosa with kb. siloso beach was packed. the place really is amazing. wonder how things will be after the IR's up. i can't imagine the crowd. wish a part of the island has its lush greenery preserved. del mar looks so much better in the late evenings. food was ok except for the appetiser.

The all blacks against south africa. yes its a rugby match. caught my first last nite. quite some thrill and excitement. can't imagine the amt of bruises that a player suffers from after the game. kb concurred. the new zealanders won the game.

Union- one of the girl's big day. great wishes to jiu-er and hubby. recalled that her ROM was just last year and voila, the real thing now. really happy for her. the usual video clips, the toast and the photo-taking sessions. sweet and simple. chattered with the girls. been a while since we caught up. peiling's up next. will look forward to her big day next june.

today's desk was a lil more busy than usual. got down to writing my trade tickets. nt too used to quoting the prices in 32 seconds. have to get my fraction right. the bosses were all rushing for the event on monday. am so glad that i just need to be there. enough of those program organising days. lets hope that i dun mess up the names on monday evening.

bulls or bears- got down to my first official mkt summary today. quite proud of it. macroeconomic views of mkt movements. ploughed through the nikkei site, bbg, internal research papers to gather some consensus data. took quite a while. but was generally good. gave me better understanding and insights. short meeting with the boss today abt monday's event. goodness, the amt of money spent on it. think somewhere along the >.5 mil direction.

took my usual stroll to raffles place after work. decided to get a decent jacket and nice skirt for monday's event. guess i killed myself again. sigh. ended up with more than i shld get. peach doll dress, black cocoon dress, and black/white suit. argh. i wish i could practise some self control. need to get back to the gym to work on the flabby arms.

speaking of which, the cough/ flu is almost gone. really glad. the robitussin cough syrup did wonders. well at least it's an expectorant and non-drowsy formula too. the pi-pa-gao helped soothe the pesky throat. looking fwd to zzz on my bed once again. been zzing on the couch. wanna make sure mich and myself are completely healed.

we met for dinner at Chikuyotei before he flies off. the sashimi chef suggested young tuna for sashimi, and tuna belly. since the throat was still bad, sashimi and a bowl of hot soup was all i could have. fresh wasabi is certainly much better than the powdered mix sort. he had overpriced unagi with rice in a fancy bento box. my claypot soba noodles wasn't fantastic either. well at least we had some peace to chit chat.

spoke to the boss today. discussed abt responsibilities for the job. daily mkt summary and outlook. guess i'll have to be in the office much earlier to get hold of the nikkei news. certainly am looking forward to it and the 35th anniversary event on the 25th. at least an oppty to meet up with the clients. he mentioned some arrangement in september. keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be for the trip to head office. hah!

its mid week once again. the exam looms. have to get more prepared.

The passport- to dealing legally. finally got my cmfas modules settled. 1a and 6. such a pain to have to read thru the boring texts everyday. so glad that its all over. progression finally! the cough is still loitering. wish it'll just go away overnight.

caught up with sam for dinner at din tai fung. first try at the meat buns. not too bad. nvr been a fan of it. but tot it was tasty. the wanton noodle was light and tasty. adjourned to menotti for tea and dessert. pistachio affogato for him and tiramisu for myself. sadly, the throat could not withstand much tiramisu. gave up after eating 1/2.

head throbbed on my way back. need more zzz. haven't been sleeping well. looking fwd to the new assignment tmr. get down to the real stuff. shall hunt for a dress for next monday's event.

simple saturday- could not zzz in any later. decided to buy mich and folks some breakie on a nice weekend. trotted to the hawker/mkt and bought mum her fav popiah. mich has her share too. dad got his chui-kueh whilst i decided to have nice good ole soy bean curd.

have to hit the books somehow. get the revision going. the cough did not get any better. glad that dad got me some herbal tea to ease the inflammation. mich and i remarked that we shld just wear a mask each to stop the dispersion of the flu bug. hah! will be quite a sight if we really did that.

Dessert overdose- k and i visited the newly opened Macaron at robertson walk for dinner. very much a place for dessert indulgence. the interior felt a bit cold. not as cosy as i wished it could be for a dessert place. we had a 6 course set each. k had his Pan Con tomate whilst i had salmon tartare for appetizer. entree was "magret" duck breast for myself and mentaiko-spagettini for him. the desserts that followed was really a sugar high.

i particularly like the raspberry granite. choc mousse with raspberry iced shavings and hazelnut praline. yum. he prob liked the virgin mary sorbet and the pan con tomate with nicely toasted bread.

the petit four put a great finale to the dinner.

Pre-bday dinner for james. Met guopei and samuel to shop for gp's gf's bday before meeting him. tiffany. gp eyed a heart shaped pendent. i succumbed to temptation. the mesh ring with a lil heart shape centred on it became the purchase of the nite. lousy me. got james some royce choc.

first time in his new red beemer. quite nice. surely a charmer for him. we had dinner at Brasserie Wolf at Robertson. french onion soup, lamb shank, avocado prawns and poached egg with bacon salad. sinful spread. maybe a tadbit too much. stopped by canele. bought a small dark choc truffle cake for him. chanced upon macaron. mentioned to kb that we'll try that place out. mebbe tmr.

a list of to dos for the weekend. will have to work out something. in the mean time, shall pray for the flu to pass.

the muddled mind becomes clear. should be for the better. let IT flow in the way that it should. nt sure if the yakitori triggered the sore throat. a nice dinner place to be at on a tues evening. char-grilled chicken wings, asparagus, shitake mushroom, ginko nuts..and alot more. pc mentioned that crowds throng the place on weekends.

caught up with adrian on wed evening. the usual update on each other's life. biz is picking up. the usual topic-career. guess i'm looking at having my very own 3 series. a dream so desire.

the flu bug visited once again. fever followed. taking the medication felt like a routine now. hate being ill. mich is very much down with the bug. her cough is so much worse. something has to be done. the vit Cs are not working well.

muddled - been a while since i felt this way. mich felt that it was IT. chose to deny. a lil illogical. she never understood why it becomes complicated as we grow. neither do i. today's entry and that 2 years back are worlds apart. the thoughts are different now. wish that it could be more specific and direct. shall let the round table decide. maybe i'll secure IT. let the round table decide.

lessons resume. another weekend of intensives before the exam arrives. francis proposed taking barry to his lil chill out bar in siglap. and we did. the boss, the lecturer and 2 fellow classmates tagged along for a quiet chill out after class.

could tell francis was very eager to show us his watering hole. met his co-partners as well. very nice pple. Vie bar. thats the name of the pub. just abt the corner of siglap road. do drop by if you can. nice and cosy. i love the spinach pizza.

a long saturday. a little lost in lecture. gotta be panicky now. mebbe i shld stay by in the students' lounge to catch up on work before hitting the cinema. met up andrew for dinner. had simple fare at a rather famous eatery in geylang. well the mango fish thingy was a little overpriced. haha so much for giving in to recommendations by the waiteress. nice dinner tho. sometimes its better to just have simple meal at a less up market place. went back to get the car. this time for me to be the chauffeur. dropped by greenwood avenue. nice to be driving along bukit timah. reminds me of jc days. nostalgic.

finally settled with sinful indulgence at island creamery. alaskan pie and mud pie. poor dude had to take 70% of it. my cough could not withstand the ice cream.

guilt is eating me now. have to make up the lost time tonight for revision.

caught the flu bug again. feels like an epidemic in the dept. 5/8 down with flu. incessant sneezing, coughing further aids the dispersion of virus. the feeling of drowsiness, body aches just frustrates me. can't seem to get anything done well.

spent 5 hrs on the group project. glad that its all settled. suspect its a case of stomach flu. the symptoms somehow match. the doc prescribed the usual anti-inflammatory and antihistamines. somehow makes me think that its not that tough being a gp afterall. maybe i'm just stereotyping the type of common illness.

dr seet was a lovely lady. humble. excused herself when her hubby called and chatted a little abt her partner after he hung up. a senior bank analyst she mentioned. she shared abt hw logical and how a contrarian he is. sweet to know that she's so much in love with her hubby. from her lil chuckle abt hw she teases him and fervent view that he's down to earth. very lovely.

the day was almost over by the time i got back with the medical chit. still felt feverish. good thing it has subsided now.

am begining to wonder if i've become cynical and snappy or maybe oversensitive. some simple or harmless comments can result in a huge reaction. don't wanna spend time thinking too much abt such issues. nonsense.

have to get all the to-dos done. getting a little out of hand.

Pligrimage to my fav haunt- tat was on saturday evening. the park was quieter than usual. which was good. had a lot of space, time and peacefulness to meditate a lil and appreciate the surroundings. did the usual stretching at the little jetty. slighly overcast sky. it was nice to lay down to gaze above. alot of time to myself.

decided upon a gadget for myself. joined the crowd at pc fair to scout for a good bargain. interesting trip as mum n dad tagged along. they were probably overwhelmed. was certain of what i wanted. just focused shopping. spot, negotiate and seal the deal. just spent 5min at the sony vaio booth and was certain i do not want it. the sales person was obviously trying to upsell the pdt.

squeezed through the human jam and found the apple store. was looking out for a big mktg balloon from afar. seems like they chilled down on that. 1788. sounds decent to me. specs look good. much better than the vaio and at a cheaper price. bargained for the nano as well. eventually, got my mac book and a nano for mich!

staring at the sleek red thing now sitting on my desk. the freebie does come in very handy.

will start scouting for a laser/optical mouse. dun think i wanna spend time scrolling on the touchpad. fulfilling weekend with a round up at starbucks with joey. miss her heaps.

vesak holiday. spent the day typing my assignment. fumbled on some loan amortization stuffs...to only realise that it was a lil error. glad that that is off the checklist of things to do.

wed nite-pre hols. met jean for a drink at rogues. always lovely to chat with her. adjourned to citylink - pseudo japn food place-raku for dinner. food was normal. and "un-japanese" but the quiet comfort made up for it. enough of buzz and ppl from the gss. always good to catch up with sec sch mates. chatting on the good times in sch, updates of current happenings in each others' lives.

contemplated if i shld head down to velvet. mich was there with her colleagues. warned that the crowd was horrendous. ah well tot i'd drop by to say hi to some mates and then pick her up to head home. indeed kim seng road was jammed with cars. my gawd.

anyhow bad experience at velvet last evening. bad crowd.

chanced upon the advert for pc show this morning. seems like the palm treo is going for a decent price. not exactly a very sleek phone to carry for a gal. just kinda drawn to the functionalities. hmmz. now to decide, a laptop or a phone.

thursday is drifting by slowly. tmr shall head to the gym. need a workout. maybe i shld take a slow jog to somewhere.

First day at the new work place. new colleagues, new environment. Got acquainted rather well. everyone was busy with their morning readings and preparatory before the mkts open.

email and bbg got setup well. felt that i got back my means of communication with everyone else. good start. met tyl over lunch. shared abt our lives, mutual update. am happy that she's well. things can only get better moving forward.

sunday was slow and simple. brunch with b at ps cafe. beautiful place in the day, outdoor dining in the evenings creates a different atmosphere. the expats love the sun, whilst i had to stay in. lest the freckles worsen. kb's sandwich had an overdosage of bacon. guess we'll have to hit marmalade pantry next time. mine was simple poached eggs with portabello mushrooms. good to chat and catch up on a sunday.

quite a fair deal of outstanding assignments and to dos to complete. will have to work on them again soon..like now.

saturday felt accomplished..met up the gang at orchard-tonkichi restaurant. the gss has started..the crowd was really bad. got drawn to the display of golf clubs..tempted..very tempted to purchase one of the sets. Had to focus on the meet up first. Ivan's trips back to sp always help bring the group together. really nice to catch up and update one another of the happenings in our lives. amy's gonna wed year end and serena's gonna be june 15 '08.

conversation always include work..work hazards! as usual mkt talk. haha. but didn't go too far down the road..glad we had plans on the next outing-prata and korea food.

met up james for a jog at ecp. been a while since i ran along the park. glad to be back on track. felt good-runner's high. dropped by suntec for dinner..sake sushi was bad. dun think i'll be back there anymore. there was midnite shopping at suntec in conjunction with gss. walked into citychain and got myself a nice sleak black watch from dkny. not fanciful. just simple and classy.

a day well spent.

simple evening out..dinner, chit chat and ice cream. at least it was away from the city buzz..the harbour view was nice..would have been better if the psa port wasn't in the picture.

been a while since i had a simple relaxing dinner out. it was nice to listen to other's experiences in life. felt sorry about the experience that d encountered. lets hope that all will be good as time goes by..

the project and assignment deadline looms...will have to put in more effort to have them done up.

The weekend awaits once more. The week was a hectic one. Eventful. Started with the departure on monday. Followed by the errands and catch up sessions on tues and wednesday.

Finally got down to reading my study materials today. quite a fair bit to cover. Outstanding assignments to be completed. The weekend will probably be spent completing assignments. Have to make sure i get down with the cmfas stuffs too.quite a pain.

sorted things out today. it should be for the better. at least we are on level playing ground. hope that all will be well for xyz.

the focus is on work now..all the energy. need to make sure i dun stretch myself too thin.

Had my first lesson of the term last evening. It was good. Mixed feelings before the class..made a boo boo whilst on my way there after work. A wrong exit from the mrt station made me walk a good 500m more. Should have gotten my bearings right.

Good thing I made it to class early. Plonked myself at the second row of seats. The class is not too big. About 24 i reckon..First class on Financial Management.. The first hour flew past pretty fast with all the intro. The remaining 2 hrs was a lil tough though. Overall everything was good. I love it. A brand new beginning...

Lesson two today...started well..but by 5pm, i could feel my head spinning a lil. Been a long while since i had intensive lessons. 1pm- 8pm??!!! gosh... Feeling zonky now still. All the formulas still swimming in my head. Well they better stay for a longer while. The assignments and readings need to be completed. haha.. quite a bit of stuffs to type..but i guess i'll just do it another time. I need to hit the sack..another long day ahead tmr.

Looking forward to the challenge ahead. am a lil worried if i'll be able to cope. Hope that all will be good. Really nice of david to share on his experiences. Gave me more insights on what to pick for the career ahead. Rather comforting to hear from supportive colleagues about the new change. Will try to fit in well..and make use of the opportunity. Will get busy with this new goal in life. Am targetting to complete it within 1.5 years or even shorter.

Last weekend to rest and relax...hope to meet up some good ole frens to catch up before the buzz sets in.

Short week i had..met him up for dinner on friday. Simple fare at manhatten fish mkt. Guess the awkward feeling faded. Maybe all is well. Both moving in different directions. The conversations did not carry too much detail. Nothing very indepth. Just a mutual update on each other's lives. Guess that's how things will be for now and probably so in future.

Met up with Ada, jean and helena at kandi bar after the dinner. Great to meet up with the gals once again.

Today was a simple day out. Revisted sentosa island. Been such a long time since i roamed the island. adam n i decided to go for the cable car ride. rather fun since the last i did was probably a good 15 years back. alot has changed for sentosa. snapped some pics and eventually decided upon km8 for drinks n suntan. siloso beach was way too crowded. din think the new joint was that great too.

And yet another sunday.. sachertorte..triggered some tots abt the trip in lucerne with him..it was a beautiful sunny and breezy late afternoon..dessert indulgence..simple and carefree moments.

Flipped through some of the photos from the korea trip.. we looked kinda goofy with me in short hair and him in slippers and bermudas whilst climbing some peak. donned in our similar nike caps..we appeared blissful.. that was then.. i had to put the pictures away.. thank you for the great times..

back to my exercise routine once again. feels good.. made my first trip back to ecp after 4 months. it was nice to skate with the breeze in my face..and with celine to chit chat.. shared with her what we used to do on weekends at the park. pointed out the places we hung out..the lil lil details..the memories came back...mebbe it helps me to face them and then to move on...

went to the tanglin mkt place after i sent celine to the airport last weekend..wanted some quiet time to shop a lil at the supermkt. felt nice to drive ard alone..in my own realm..no one to disturb. picked up baby spinach, balsamic vinegrette , walnut ham, some kettle chips, ben n jerry's ice cream, focaccia buns. i love the peace at the mktplace. wish i could have a simple nice shopping trip with someone special in future.

drove home...and rested...it was a nice weekend with celine...today..just time to myself and family... i like the tranquility. looking forward to my new sport at the range in may.

Another sunday afternoon.. time to spring clean for the lunar new year. time never fail to fly...am i excited about the lunar new year? not sure..mebbe i will, mebbe i wun..

we used to traverse the streets of chinatown, busk in the mood... those were great times. took me a while to put the stuffs away. the flood gates were released once again today..the first time after week one. still have the shells picked from the different beaches nicely packed in a chiffon bag. they will be yours...they were picked with you in mind.

am certain all will be good for you.. looking forward to next week and march...exploration...i yearn for it....

started my saturday later than i usually would. guess i was rather pooked from the week's buzz. good to take rest. had an impromptu coffee session with good old melzone..been so long since i caught up with this long time fren from uni days. the chat was great...coffee club was not crowded..the weather was just fine..with an occasional breeze in the heart of orchard road.

finally had dinner with mum, dad, mich and fuwen. haven sat down to chat with my folks for a while...so glad that i can make up for the "eat out" dinner sessions for the past week. daddy suggested going to chinatown for a post dinner stroll...brilliant idea!

the folks managed to get some stuffs for the house...prob gonna head back there another time to help get some chinese paper cutting thingy for mum.

26th Jan, Fri nite....feeling tired from the day at work. Client visits and admin. The week was busy and good..took the HK ppl out for loads of fun. They're off to HK again...felt a little weird when the left. It was good fun....all the partying helps relax....

Office was packed today..many came from the other regional offices for sales training. Really happy to be able to put a fit to the photos in the directory. Felt a buzz and burst of excitement...seems like i'm all ready back on track to do my job well!

Clarified a little with mr A, guess that makes it less awkward for me and him. am not ready for that amt of attention considering a bad storm just occured with mr J. need to get back on track first... dun wish to lose a fren just like that. time to get back to running and my activities..glad that i have things in place till march. am looking forward to this brand new year ahead... mebbe i'm not mr J. 's special someone afterall...

14/01/07... been a week since the incident took place. Had a glance of my blog history...realised that it was started sometime in october 2003. About 4 years back.. 07/01/07.. a day that will be deeply embedded in my mind. not sure if i should close this blog..and start a brand new one...to begin a life without you ard. i know i can't bring myself to do so.. the 3 years of wonderful memories are still so vivid in my mind.

the ferry ride to and fro reminded me of you... the shopping session got me excited to look out for apparel that may suit you.. but had to remind myself that it was history. maybe you wouldn't want me to harbour tots of you... i guess its hard..am trying hard to preoccupy my time to let time pass. mebbe u're happier with someone else now? i try to not think about it... the memories of losing you at the mall in hakone and then reuniting again when everyone else has left, keeps running in my head.. i was relieved..felt comforted to be in your arms again. promised then to stay close always..

maybe i do wish for u being ard....seems like impossibility. will we ever be reunited when all the storm and uncertainty is over? i'm not sure.. maybe not at all...its unclear. all fogged..

it was good time spent on the island..everyone was happie and had good bargains... i was happie...had bumpod with me. will learn to be strong and be well..all the best for the exams...study hard and focus well on the paper. i'll pray hard for you and send the lucky stars...
